Compassion Cultivation Training in Healthcare

Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) is a Stanford University-developed course using mindfulness and loving-kindness meditations to enhance compassion in healthcare professionals. The program aims to improve patient care by teaching stress management and self-compassion, ultimately preventing burnout and fostering deeper connections with patients. Meditation practices, such as focusing on one’s own well-being then extending it to others, are central to the training. CCT’s impact is measured by increased empathy, reduced stress, and improved overall well-being for both medical staff and patients.
