After years of ruling the smartphone market, is the iPhone starting to lose its appeal? The once sexy and sophisticated iPhone is beginning to look chubby and short – especially when you put it beside the Samsung Galaxy S3. Indeed, even mobile phone users cannot seem to agree more. Did AMD Steal Apple’s iPhone Chip Ideas?
AMD is really getting serious about creating low power chips, going the length of hiring a former Apple employee. Last Wednesday, the Intel rival has confirmed that they hired Jim Keller, a former director for the platform architecture group of Apple. He will then lead AMD’s specially created design team, which will develop high performing yet low power processors, which will be used for AMD products in the future. Keller worked on chip designs especially the low powered ARM processors which are currently found in the iPhone and iPad ……………….. read more: http://www.wired.com/
Is Apple Being Sued Again For iPhone Patents?
The National Cheng Kung University of Taiwan has recently filed a suit against Apple. The university claims that Siri – the mobile phone’s intelligent assistant – has allegedly infringed two patents which they designed. Siri was introduced when the iPhone 4S was released back in 2011. However, the university team who filed the claim states that two of its research teams already had two existing patents relating to speech recognition.
This is not the first time for Apple to be filed with an infringement case related to Siri, since a Chinese tech firm also filed a case earlier this month ………………. Read more: http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news
