Bill Gates, during a recent interview, foresees a future where tablets are all Surface-like devices or devices which are PC like in nature. While the iPad has been popular today, they are not necessarily devices for multi-tasking and productivity, Gates believes that people will eventually want Surface-like devices which merge productivity and portability all at once. The Microsoft Surface, when released, might just change the rules of how the world sees tablet PCs.

The rumor mill has never been this busy, but buzz is about regarding the newest iPad to hit town.  Rumors say that a new iPad will be released late this year, sometime similar to the iPad 5 release or after that. Dubbed as the “iPad 4,” enthusiasts believe that the device will be small, somewhere around 7 to 8 inches in size.

iPad Sales To Go Past Notebook Sales?

Apple announced and released the new iPad in March of this year and talked about a world “post PC.” This means that in the future, people will go without PCs  - especially notebooks and mininotes – to use for their daily needs. This is because the PCs will be replaced by iPads for web browsing, reading, content consumption and productivity. The numbers somehow agree with Apple, since NDP Display Search highlights that by 2017, notebook sales will climb up to 393 million while tablets on the other hand will surpass that and go up to 416 million.
