Yes! Google is reacting to the success of Amazon’s Kindle fire as it is successfully running its very own customized Android version and at the same time, shutting sales out from Google because it runs its own app store.

At One Year Old – How Is Amazon’s App Store Doing?
Amazon’s App Store turned one year old last week and it has updated to a new version – version 2.3. No groundbreaking figures here but it is safe to say that Amazon’s App store is going quite great. It has first, separated itself from Google’s Android Market – although its applications are actually for its Android powered Kindle Fire. Aside from that they have been able to apply innovative features like its Test Drive.
