Getting around easier Telenav
Getting around the smart way
One of the more interesting apps that was introduced at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show was Scout by navigation data provider Telenav. Telenav promises a daily personal navigator that is designed for people that are always on the move.
Whether you are looking for the smartest way to make it through a daily commute, are exploring the city, or simply running errands, Scout promise important and personalized information that makes your feature trips more productive, less stressful, and much easier.
Some of the key features
Of course, an app is only as great as what it lets us do, not what it promises. Some of the key features for Scout include real-time traffic, turn-by-turn directions, and an updated (meaning it changes for the different hours of the day) drive time. These features may not seem too different from some of the other navigation software that is available to – the difference lies in the software's ability to personalize preferences.
Personalized features that you can use anywhere
So knowing that Scout is designed to provide personalized convenience features, entertainment features, and navigation features, it is important that you can always have it with you. That is not a problem because Scout works on personal computers, in your car, and of course the smart phone.
Not just that, but using the user’s preferences for points of interests, restaurants, and entertainment, it also provides personal local search once the user gets to where they were going.
Share with friends
Locations of favorite places and discoveries can not only be saved (so you never forget that hole in the wall place that made a delicious cheeseburger) but can also be shared with friends via email, Twitter, or Facebook.
The future
Even though the app is already available for download, Telenav promises that several new features are going to be implemented over time. The integration with cars is also slowly but surely starting to get going, with Ford being the first car manufacturer that Telenav is working with.
It does not matter if you are laying on your couch, sitting in front of your computer, or driving through a city that you may never have been before, Telenav promises to not only get you there safe, but also provides you with interesting things that you would like once you get there. It is interesting to see how this evolves and of course we will keep you updated.
