Grand Theft Auto IV Review
Grand Theft Auto IV was one of the most hyped up game during the period of its release in 2008 and it completely dissipated any prior expectations I had towards it. What I must emphasize first is the graphics, this game is the most stunningly realistic looking GTA game to date, where previous GTA games did appear a bit cartoony, this game has visibly moved away from the cartoony graphics of its predecessors and taken full advantage of the power boost from the PS3, everything from the details of the car to the luscious environments are remarkably detailed and remarkably realistic unlike any game I’ve ever seen before.
This is a truly living and breathing world that is not nearly as linear and predicable as previous Grand Theft Auto Games, the attention to detail and the sheer scope of this game is unprecedented in any game like this, I was blow away by it. The characters are truly believable, also there is a greater diversity amongst the kinds of civilians you’ll come across in the streets, each character feels like it has its own story and you really want to get know all the characters.
Grand Theft Auto 4 plays into the same concept as its predecessors this time situating you in New York City, you can still do anything and everything that you’d expect to be able to do in Grand Theft Auto, Steal a Car, run over pedestrians, evade a few cop cars, everything you could do in previous Grand Theft Auto Game and more. The game still includes a story line in which your character an immigrant to America in pursuit of the American dream must do a series of mission for various outlaws that range from escort missions to missions in which you must kill certain characters, pick something up, you know gangster stuff.
As with previous Grand Theft Auto games, this game contains plenty of brief cutscenes complete with witty tongue and cheek dialogue and very realistic character animations. The cutscenes are well done and easy to follow, the gameplay is phenomenal, everything from running to operating vehicles is extremely realistic and the mechanics are as easy as they come.
The developers have also perfected the cover system with the single press of a button you can hide behind anything and everything in this game. This game is stuffed with over 90 story missions that take anywhere between 30-45 hours to complete, after which you aren’t done because there’s simply so much to do in this game you will truly be captivated by its sheer scale.
What really stands out in this game is the amount of multiplayer options that available, Multiplayer wise this game really stands out as a truly anomaly in the realm of games, there are things you can do in this game that you simply cannot experience in any other game. You can have up to 16 players in any given multi player game and can play game modes that range from free for all in which you can all enter the game at the same time and do whatever you want, kill eachother steel cars, get the cops after you....there’s multiplayer games in which you can all have races, games where you have to steal a car and avoid being killed by the other players in the game who may be cops.
There are enough modes to keep you thoroughly engaged for the rest of our life, this game is truly a marvel. It’s a shooting game, an action game a racing game, it’s everything all rolled in to one. I would definitely recommend every PS3 gamer own this game.
Rating: 96% = Wow

One of the most versatile multiplayer games out there
Anywhere between 35 and 45 hours of story mode gameplay
The most realistic looking GTA game to date,
Super fun, infinitely replayable
Cons:
The police AI is still a bit iffy in this game
