It has been confirmed that RIM’s QNX-based PlayBook and Handsets (which is set to be released next year) will be Android compatible. The new generation of Blackberry handsets and PlayBook will now come with the “app player” engine which will allow applications which have been developed for Google’s platform to be downloaded and run on RIM handsets.
This news should make Blackberry Playbook users happy – given the current limited choice of applications available for the tablet today.
