A rumor currently abounds and it says that the new iPad might just be bigger and thicker in size. This is said to be brought about by a higher resolution display, which makes the size increase necessary.
With other products getting smaller and thicker with each new upgrade, the iPad three will certainly be a reverse of these things in case the said thing happens.

A Samsung Galaxy Tab is also currently in the works, and rumors state that its resolution is bound to rival the iPad 3. A “trusted source” states that the Samsung Tablet will have a large 11.6” display screen and will have a very high display resolution on 2560x1600.
The iPad 3 on the other hand is rumored to have a 9.7 inch screen and a smaller resolution of 2048x1536. The tablets will also have similar processors, which will make them as fast as each other.
