Underneath its comedy and seemingly light plot, Juno is actually a heart touching movie that is an eye-opener as well. Ellen Page's portrayal of Juno, the teen who tried fighting her way through carrying her unwanted pregnancy at such as young age is masterfully played. 9 out of 10!

Short plot (from wiki) is “After being released from prison, Adam, the former leader of a neo-Nazi gang, is required to spend several months living in a small religious community, headed by a priest named Ivan. Two other former prisoners are being rehabilitated at the same time: Khalid, an Arab burglar who occasionally holds up petrol stations as a form of political protest, and Gunnar, an obese, alcoholic, kleptomaniac convicted rapist. Ivan believes firmly in the goodness of man, and seems blind to their continuing misdeeds.” Film is AWESOME!

Oscar awards made a right choice in choosing The Lives Of Others as the best foreign film, well this film had captivated my heart and curiosity, well Juno had portrayed the life of teenagers now a days being so curious about sex and getting pregnant at a young age.

I think, the question I bring to each film is more basic: does it work at its primary goal - to entertain an audience? Because a film that fails as a film, I think, can’t be an effective vehicle for any thematic or political message.
