I'll download a couple -never a big fan, but I did love Hackensack and its sentimental storytelling.

I didn't like the first FOW album, found it too arch and clever. Loved the second one where the snarky, punning humor was balanced by an almost sentimental tenderness ("Hackensack"). This one sounds somewhere in the middle to me. 92 Subaru is the hit pop novelty, almost as good as "Stacy's Mom, but marked down a notch for being obviously contrived as a successor to "Stacy" I still think the attention to detail in the lyrics is clever in a good way. "Yolanda Hayes" is beautifully observed. Besides the melodies it's what works best about FOW. But I don't hear 70s influence, what I hear is sheer 80s influence---they should have a song on the Transformers soundtrack!

I agree with you, Viscount, except I think the new album is far more 70s-influenced than the previous record. It's a great listen if not a great album. I think "92 Suburu" is just about perfect pop-rock.
