Manny:

At some point in the near future I'm planning on a White Album post. I have a lot to say about it, and not everyone will agree with me!

Don't forget that one year after Sgt. Pepper's came The White Album. I'm sure the record companies won't let us forget that one either, but today, of all the Beatles records, that is the one with songs that, unprompted, suddenly start playing in my head.

People forget that Sgt Pepper was Paul McCartney's answer to Pet Sounds. But I prefer Pet Sounds to Sgt Pepper. But Revolver is, to me, the best pop/rock album ever.

Most of the Beatle albums were milestones - innovative in one way or another. While Sgt. Pepper enjoys a certain spot in history, I think Revolver was the one where they realized they could do anything.

Ironic that the late, lamented Steve Gilliard blogged on this very site just before entering the hsopital that Revolver was the Beastles' breakthrough record.

I asked Gabby Dunne what her all-time favorite album was and she said, "The first Small Faces album."

Tom had to put the video links on for me. I know how to post the photos, but I can't get the youtubes to work. The code just disappears.

I like The Dictators, and they sing "I wish Sgt. Pepper never taught the band to play" in one of their songs...

Hey, Viscount, just want you to know that Gabby Dunne's comment about "Sgt. Pepper" in the post above is strictly her opinion. She is so hardcore. I myself have listened to that album so many times that it is imprinted in my DNA. (Although I still may prefer "Meet the Beatles".) Also. I'm really jealous that you know how to post up these video clips. So far I haven't even been able to put up a photo successfully without Tom coming to my rescue.
