		<description>Tom, what makes me mad (in an incredibly naive way, I know), is that is unfair because terrestrial radio stations do not have to pay royalties at all.

There's a House bill in committee right now to make things equitable between online and terrestrial radio stations.  Gaper's Block, a Chicago blog, has good coverage of it &lt;a href="http://gapersblock.com/transmission/archives/2007/05/03/the_plight_of_internet_radio_or_the_loudest_silence_youve_ever_heard/" rel="nofollow"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.  I'm calling my rep to try and get her to support it.</description>

		<description>Claire - this is so clearly one of those baby/bathwater deals that the record industry goons seem incapable of NOT making (double negative, sorry) - it just amazes me. Why the heck not pick a reasonable rate for a reasonable quality (somewhat lo-fi) of recording and agree to expand the audience? I don't always stream, but I do use it moderately often (lastFM is my hangout) and it just gets me interested in music that I end up buying...</description>
