		<description>I was equally shocked that the strip still exists.  For me, those experimental sunday pages from the late 20s/early 30s, some of which show up in the Williams Smithsonian book, remain as stunning as Cliff Sterrett's POLLY AND HER PALS sundays and Herbert Paus' illustrations--visual ideas so completely ahead of their time that they seem to have come from an alien source.</description>

		<description>I'm a big Gasoline Alley fan too - I've always enjoyed the large ensemble cast. I agree, it's gone off the tracks. Uncle Walt is about 110 and Skeezix should be around 90, but they soldier on. The latest storyline about Walt's memory loss and dotage is painful. And the old gang from around the garage has long disappeared, which was a big part of the attaction. Still, it remains a classic.</description>
